Designing within the ' human
scale' and using the 'open plan' ensures the simplicity that I strive for in my building
designs. Living on the west coast of North America I've been influenced by the design styles of the Pacific Rim. I enjoy combining these Asian influences into my own work. and find that the knowledge embodied in certain aspects of Eastern design not only compliments our Western lifestyle but enhances it. I find the Chinese belief and practice of Feng Shui fascinating. Even if only out of interest these ancient practices can add a whole new perspective to building design.; as well as an added depth to our way of seeing things. |
